Reviews: Ends of the Earth

I’m beginning to wonder if Tim Downs can write a bad story. Ends of the Earth, his seventh novel–-fifth in the “Bug Man” series–continues the trend of great storytelling—taut suspense, engaging mystery, and a cliffhanger that will have you either yelling bloody murder or even more excited for the next Nick Polchak adventure....

Ends of the Earth is just stellar. Downs has brought together so many threads in Nick’s life that have come together over the course of several novels. Instead of leaving autonomous mysteries and supporting characters to themselves, Downs has seen fit to flesh out the world he has created by having their worlds collide in exciting ways. The return of Kathryn Guilford-Severenson, Alena Savard, and Special Agent Nathan Donovan is just what the “Bug Man” series ordered. Fans of Downs’ previous work will not be disappointed.

C.E. Moore in The Christian Manifesto

Dr. Nick Polchak, the "Bug Man" (First the Dead, Less Than Dead, Shoo Fly Pie, and Chop Shop), heads to North Carolina to investigate the death of an organic farmer. The police believe the murder is related to drugs, but Nick is not so sure, and the bugs found in a bale of marijuana may hold the clue to a plot by terrorists to undermine U.S. agriculture. VERDICT: The Christy Award-winning author's latest forensic thriller is intelligent and thought-provoking and should especially appeal to male fans of the genre.
